For over 50 Seasons WFCA has provided an opportunity for the youth of the Westminster area to understand the positive benefits that lead to a healthy lifestyle and learn appreciation of the sports of Football and Cheerleading, allowing them to experience the positive character traits that are inherent in the games: sportsmanship; discipline; courage; learning; teamwork; the value of competition and competitiveness; trust and confidence in oneself, team, and teammates.
WFCA is a partner of USA Football and we have fully embraced the Heads Up Football Program. Our coaches are trained and certified through the USA Football courses in many areas including concussion awareness and heat related injuries. Heads Up Football is the safer way to practice and play. USA Football has worked with leaders in both medicine and sport across the country to create a full-featured program that any league or school can use to address key safety issues — and ensure that every coach understands and knows how to implement each component of the program. For more about USA Football please visit https://usafootball.com/ The WFCA football program had 3 teams in the League Championship game last year.
Our Cheerleading program which participates in both sideline and competitive cheer is ever growing. Over the past few years our teams have won League Championship titles at our CCFL events along with being named National Champions at USASF sanctioned events. Our coaches receive training from accredited cheer camps, are CPR trained and certified. This year our cheer program is beyond excited to bring back our Special Needs cheer squad for the 2nd year. Our team will cheer at games as well as compete at our league competition and outside events that our program attends.
